I would like to have an action taken when there serious issues with the drive.

I would like to have an action taken when there serious issues with the drive. Example power off the computer, perform a backup. Having email notifications is handy when you are checking your email at the right time.

Display detailed hard drive status in pain English

Instead of just displaying the raw hard drive data, which is not that helpful for most users, give a detailed descrption of any issues found. The description would indicate if the issues are minor (no need to replace the drive at this stage), or...

Perform action when drive at a critical condition

So if my drive was about to fail it would be nice to have the program power down the drive or do a backup to prevent data loss.

The program needs to be compatible with RAID.

My ASUS M3N-HT NVIDIA nForce 780a SLI mobo (2010) has an onboard RAID controller I use to have a RAID-1 mirror for system backups and file archive redundancy. Unfortunately, HDMP can't detect my drives, possibly because it doesn't have the RAID...
